Nigeria French Village to create 6 centres nationwide -MDBadagry (Lagos State),

BAGAGRY (Sundiata Post) – Language Village (NFLV) says it will establish six centres in the geopolitical zones of the country for teaching of French language to interested Nigerians.

Prof. Lateef Ayeleru, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the institute, disclosed this in an interview in Badagry on Sunday.

NFLV is an Inter-University Centre for French study.Ayeleru said this would give opportunity to Nigerians who want to learn French language for their businesses.“

Since the institution is created to take care of French study in Nigeria and the headquarters in Badagry, we want to have centres where we can teach French language to interested Nigerians.“

Already, we have one in Abuja where we teach military officers, paramilitary, civil servants and private sector French language.“Between now and July,

we will have six centres in six geopolitical zones of the country where people who have interest in the language can learn.“

You don’t need to come to Badagry since we will have an office in any of the zones.“All we will do is to mobilise our teachers to go and organise the programme for them.“

The only thing is our normal end of the programme exposure where you will travel to francophone countries, either Togo or Benin Republic, for some days or weeks to mix with people there,” he said.

Ayeleru said that six state capitals would be chosen in the six geopolitical zones, adding that comfort and facilities would also be considered.“

We will look at the comfort and facilities, our programmes are based on electronics, not conventional teaching.“We make use of video and we will need things that will allow us to deploy the technology that we will use in teaching the language.“

Any state that is willing to help us in terms of office accommodation, where we can also have places to teach our students, such a state will have our attention,” he said. (NAN)
