Nigerian Army asks military wives and soldiers to provide their children with proper education
Brigadier General Ibikunle Ademola Ajose, Acting General Officer Commanding 8 Brigade, Nigeria Army in Sokoto, has stated that education is the foundation of any society’s development.
He stated that the majority of the youths committing crimes in the country are uneducated, and he urged soldiers’ spouses to provide their children with a good upbringing to maintain the Nigerian Army’s reputation.
This was declared by Ajose during the commissioning of the Army Cantonment Primary School in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
He claimed that banditry and other forms of lawlessness plaguing the north and other sections of the country were the result of young people’s lack of education.
“Education is a vital instrument for the development of a society and the Army will not treat the issue of education with a mere wave of hand’, he added.
Earlier, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, Commanding Officer of 1 Brigade, stated that the State’s Universal Basic Education Board, ZSUBEB, began construction of the school in 2021 but later abandoned it before the Army took over and reconstructed it.
He stated that he had already assured the families of the Army commanders that he would continue from where the ZSUBEB left off.
He advised parents not to worry about paying fees and uniforms because they would be supported by the Army authority.
