The Nigerian government has committed N112 billion to its National Plan for Safe Schools over the next three years, aiming to secure educational environments across the country.
Marking Universal Children’s Day 2024, the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, announced this significant investment, highlighting its role in protecting children’s rights and ensuring inclusive and secure learning spaces.
She noted that the government has made strides in promoting the welfare of children in recent years.
“Through the National Plan for Financing Safe Schools, over N112 billion has been allocated to safeguard learning environments over the next three years, ensuring that schools remain safe and inclusive spaces for all children,” Suleiman-Ibrahim stated.
This initiative underscores Nigeria’s commitment to improving safety and accessibility in its educational system.
