Nigerian Turkish Nile University Post-UTME Form, eligibility and registration details for 2019/2020 session has been announced. Applications are invited from candidates for admission into the various undergraduates programmes of the Nigerian Turkish Nile University for the 2019/2020 academic session.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. The Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences
UTME: Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics and any other two relevant subjects including Economics, Accounting and Government.
Direct Entry: At least Two “A” level credit including Economics NCE or OND with credit passes in relevant subjects.
Remarks: UME subjects are Economics, English, Mathematics and any other subject.
2. Political Science and International Relations
UTME: Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language , Government or History and at least a pass in Maths and any other relevant subjects.
Direct Entry: Not applicable.
Remarks: Three Arts or Social Science Subjects.
3. English Studies
UTME: Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language and Literature in English.
Direct Entry: At least two A level passes including Literature in English and one other Arts subject.
Remarks: UME subjects are English, Literature in English, One Arts subject and another one Social Science subject.
4. Biology
UTME: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics and Biology and any other science subjects
Direct Entry: Two “A” level passes in Biology and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Chemistry in that order. Credit passes in OND.Two “A” level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order. Credit passes in OND.
Remarks: UME subjects are English, Chemistry mathematics and any of Physics, Geography Biology.
5. Chemistry
UTME: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other two science subjects
Direct Entry: Two “A” level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order. Credit passes in OND.Two “A” level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order. Credit passes in OND.
Remarks: UME subjects are English, Chemistry mathematics and any of Physics, Geography Biology.
6. Computer Science
UTME: Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English & Mathematics and any other 3 subjects preferably Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agric. Science in that order.
Direct Entry: Two “A” level passes in Mathematics and either Physics and/or Chemistry. OND/NCE in Mathematics and another Science Subject.
Remarks: UME subjects are Mathematics and any two of Physics Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Economics in order of preference.
7. The Faculty of Engineering
UTME: Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English & Mathematics and any other 3 subjects preferably Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
Direct Entry: Two “A” level passes in Mathematics and either Physics and/or Chemistry. OND/NCE in Mathematics and another Science Subject.
Remarks: UME subjects are Mathematics and any two of Physics Chemistry, Geography.
8. Department of Law
UTME: Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language and Literature in English.
Direct Entry: At least two A level passes including Literature in English and one other Arts subject.
Remarks: UME subjects are English, Literature in English, One Arts subject and another one Social Science subject.
ADMISSION PROCEDURES [NIGERIAN, FOREIGN & TRANSFER/DIRECT ENTRY STUDENTS]
1. Nigerian Applicants:
Nigerian students seeking admission into the University must take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination or UTME and obtain the approved cut-off mark for that year. Also the candidates are required to present 5 credits at no more than two sittings. Please refer to your respective faculties for full requirements, other useful information and/or specifications.
2. Foreign Applicants:
Unlike Nigerian applicants, all foreign applicants must provide their corresponding Examination Results as well as academic transcript of previous high schools.
3. Transfer & Direct Entry Students:
Direct Entry candidates are those who have completed one of the following: OND, HSE, HND, ‘A’ level GCE, SBS, and IJMB or any other higher qualification. For this method of entry to NTNU, candidates who have 9 points or above will be admitted to 200 Level based on the three subjects taken. Generally, those candidates who have below 9 points will be admitted to commence at 100 Level.
Transfer candidates from national universities are generally given preference except in cases where the candidate is on academic probation. In such cases, the candidate may be admitted to a lower level. For this method of admission, a grade point average of 1.50 CGPA (3rd class) on a 5.0 scale will permit the candidate to transfer and commence from their appropriate level.
