Northern students demand deployment of security to campuses amid insecurity

The Coalition of Northern Groups’ Student Wing (CNG-SW) has urged for the deployment of security officers to campuses.

At a news conference in Kaduna yesterday, Hassan Adamu, National Coordinator of the CNG-SW, raised worry over increased insecurity on campuses in the North.

He complained that banditry attacks and kidnappings were becoming the new normal, causing female students to withdraw from school due to insecurity.

The organisation urged President Bola Tinubu to restructure the country’s security architecture to combat criminal groups, as students will no longer accept flimsy excuses and blame games.

“We call on the president to revisit the approach and reform the security architecture of the nation. We will no longer tolerate flimsy excuses and the blame game.

“We also request for the deployment of troops to all campuses to ease the anxiety among students,” the group said.
