NUC to collaborate with Sunderland University in UK to strengthen transnational education policies

The management of the National Universities Commission (NUC) paid a visit to the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom as part of efforts to promote transnational education and improve the ranking of Nigerian universities.

The London Academy Business School facilitated this first-of-its-kind visit. It allowed the universities to finish processes for implementing the Transnational Education Accreditation (TNE).

Dr Larry Jones-Esan, Dean and Chief Executive Officer of London Academy Business School, announced this in a statement made accessible to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, in which he emphasised the school’s ongoing commitment to offering quality education at an affordable price.

He expressed his delight, stating that they are awaiting the final paperwork and reaction to the University of Sunderland and London Academy Business School’s visits for additional inspection.

He described the visit as a watershed event in transforming the educational environment, underlining the need of quality education and fair pricing in international collaborations.

He thanked the NUC for their assistance and feedback throughout the certification process and looked forward to the collaboration’s positive influence on the educational community.

Jones-Esan also referenced NUC Acting Executive Secretary Chris Maiyaki, who highlighted the NUC’s commitment to attaining institutional equity.

Maiyaki highlighted the importance of ensuring that the quality of curriculum delivery was consistent across all educational partners, and that pricing models were fair and comparable to both private and public universities.

He believes the University of Sunderland demonstrated meticulous preparation for the visit, showcasing its dedication to meeting the standards set forth by the NUC.

Maiyaki said the NUC team were pleased with the University’s commitment to excellence and the collaborative efforts with London Academy Business School.
