Ogun Government to Supply 20,000 Furniture to Schools

Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the distribution of 20,000 tables and chairs to schools in an effort to enhance the learning environment for students throughout Ogun State.
The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, made this known during a three-day training workshop for staff of the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), alongside principals and managers from the state’s eight technical colleges, held at OPIC Tower in Abeokuta.
Prof. Arigbabu, while officially opening the training, announced that the contract for the project was entirely awarded to artisans based within the state and mentioned that the initial phase had already begun with the production of 10,000 tables and chairs.
He encouraged the participants to make the best use of the resources provided by the current college administration to guarantee excellent service delivery and promote professionalism.
The commissioner further pointed out that the government would provide additional equipment once the construction of new buildings in the technical colleges was completed.
“Now that we have remodeled our technical colleges, let us show it in terms of our output, training, and staffers’ assiduous attitude to work,” he said.
Speaking during the event, the Acting Executive Secretary of OGSTVEB, Mr. Olubori Akinleye, stated that the training was put together by the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
He noted that the programme aimed to update technical college principals and school leaders on the ongoing changes within the sector and to enhance their capacities to support the continuity of the government’s innovations.
