Two men suspected of being serial rapists have been taken into custody by the South-West Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps, in Osun State after unsuccessful efforts to rape two female victims in the state.

The individuals arrested are 25-year-old Raji Ridwan, described as a serial rapist, and 28-year-old Abdullateef Ajao.

Ridwan faces allegations of trying to have carnal knowledge of a 17-year-old student at the Federal University of Health Technology, Ila-Orangun.

This information was disclosed by the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Isaac Omoyele, during a parade of suspects on Tuesday in Osogbo.

Omoyele stated, “At about 21:40hrs, On May 29th, 2025, Raji Ridwan, 25 years, was arrested for forcefully entering the room of a 17 year old girl, a 200 level student of Federal University of Health Technology Ila-Orangun, and trying to rape the girl.”

He explained that the girl managed to avoid being raped by raising an alarm and fleeing the scene.

A report was made about Ridwan’s actions to the Amotekun Ila-Orangun Command, and operatives quickly responded and apprehended him at his hiding place.

After investigation by Amotekun’s Intelligence and Investigation Department, it was found that Ridwan is a serial rapist who shows no intention to change his ways.

“He confessed to the crimes and saying he had raped one of his siblings before and was always luring the young girl hawking inside his room to rape her,” Omoyele added.

In addition, Omoyele reported the arrest of 28-year-old Abdullateef Ajao for attempting to have carnal knowledge of an eight-year-old girl, who is a primary three pupil, in his residence at Ode-Omu.

He said, “At about 6:30hrs on Monday 2nd June, 2025, Abdulateef Ajao, 28 years, was arrested for luring an 8 year-old girl, primary 3 pupil inside his house in Ode-Omu in the guise of buying pepper from her and the girl escaped from him and she reported the matter to her parent.”

Omoyele explained that a complaint was made at the Amotekun Ayedaade Command, and operatives acted swiftly to arrest Ajao at his home, where he confessed to the crime.

In his statement, Omoyele said both suspects will be prosecuted after thorough investigation to serve as a deterrent to others.
