Osun State COE students protest over lecturers strike action
Students of the Osun State College of Education (OSSCE), Ila Orangun has taken to the streets to protest the suspension of lecturing activities in the institution.
The protest which held today was carried to the entrance of the school, as students were seen holding placards with various inscriptions, such as; “End bad management”, “Isaac Oyewole enough is enough, OSSCE Ila is going backward under your administration”, among others.
This is coming after lecturers of the institution commenced strike since Monday, a week after the commencement of the second semester.
According to the President of the Student Union, Olarewaju Tajudeen, it has become the custom of the college to go on strike whenever the school is preparing for examination. The students said they were worried over the strike after spending about four months at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further called on the management to attend to the demands of the lecturers so that academic activities can resume.
