Oyo state employs 5,000 teachers, issues appointment letters
The Oyo state chairman of the state Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akinade Alamu, has revealed that the newly-recruited teachers under the commission have started receiving their appointment letters on Monday, February 1, after a vigorous process of scrutiny and verification to correct all errors.
According to Alamu, the government had approved the release of 5,000 appointment letters for distribution to the newly recruited teachers across the 33 local government areas, but only 4,400 letters were released, because 600 letters had certain errors on the part of the applicants.
He said the errors included misspelled names as well as invalid emails among others, maintaining that the letters would be collected immediately after correction of errors by the applicants.
Alamu congratulated the selected candidates and charged them to work diligently, adding that this would bring the governor’s passion for education to reality.
