Plateau to close schools involved in examination malpractice




The Plateau State administration plans to close schools that indulged in examination malpractices.

Mohammed Nyalun, Commissioner for Secondary Education, made the announcement on Saturday at the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Staff School in Jos during the Speech and Prize/Graduation Ceremony.

Nyalun, who was represented by Dalyop Pam of the Jos South Area Education Directorate, stated that examination malpractices were to blame for the decline in educational standards and would not be condoned.

The commissioner claimed that such schools cheated those who were doing the right thing while also damaging children’s lives.

“If you are a parent, don’t encourage your children to participate in examination malpractice because they will not defend that result.

“ITF Staff School is one of the best in the state for educating and moulding the character of the young ones.

“A school that is involved in examination malpractice will be closed down,” he said.

The Chairman, Parents Teachers Association (PTA), ITF Staff School Jos, Yahaya Musa, expressed gratitude to the visionary management team for their relentless dedication and unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional educational environment.

Musa said that their consistent endeavours in creating a nurturing and progressive institution have shaped the lives of countless students, empowering them to reach greater heights and become responsible citizens of tomorrow.

“You are the guiding lights who inspire our students to develop their intellects, explore their talents, and strive for excellence in all their endeavors.

“Your selfless commitment to their growth and well-being is truly commendable.

“As a united community’ of parents, teachers, and students, we firmly believe that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge but also about nurturing values, fostering creativity, and cultivating strong character traits,” he added.

The school’s head boy, Joshua Adam, commended the school for shaping their character and preparing them for higher education.

Adam praised ITF management for their collaborative efforts to make the school one of the best in the nation and worldwide.

Rahama Musa, the school’s head girl, stated that the knowledge and experience they acquire at ITF Staff School will last a lifetime.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the events included the debut of the school magazine as well as the awarding of awards for excellent performances.
