President Tinubu Grants Permission for the Establishment of Seven Tertiary Institutions

The conversion of the four colleges of education into federal universities of education has been approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.Additionally, he has given his assent for the formation of five colleges of education, two federal universities of agriculture, and two federal universities of medical and health sciences.

This is in accordance with the current administration’s commitment to ensuring continuity in governance and policy consistency, according to a statement issued on Friday by Obilor-Duru Augustina Okechi, Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, on behalf of Professor Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education.

According to her, the Federal Universities, Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale, Delta State, and Federal University of Agriculture in Mubi, Adamawa State, are the approved institutions for which the establishment process will start right away.

Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo, Ondo State, and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education in Owerri, Imo State are two colleges of education that were transformed into federal universities of education.

Federal College of Education at Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti State; Federal College of Education in Ididep, Ibiono, Akwa Ibom State; and Federal College of Education (Technical), Yauri, Kebbi State are the colleges of education.

“The establishment and conversion of these institutions is a further demonstration of President Tinubu’s Education for the Renewed Hope Agenda and will help in improving access to tertiary education in the country,” she stated
