According to the statement, findings of the report revealed that the removal of Professor Ogundipe as Vice-Chancellor did not follow due process and that he was not granted an opportunity to defend himself on the allegations upon which his removal was based.

Furthermore, the panel recommended that the Vice-Chancellor should be re-instated accordingly and all allegations made against him and the management of the University before and after the Constitution of the Special Visitation Panel should be referred to the regular Visitation Panel for thorough investigation and necessary recommendations.

The panel also resolved that the process adopted by the Governing Council chaired by Dr B. O. Babalakin in the appointment of Professor Omololu Soyombo as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University was inconsistent with the provisions of the Law relating to the appointment of an Acting Vice-Chancellor and thereby recommended the dissolution of the governing council.
