Quality education best inheritance for children – Cleric advises parents
MAKURDI (Sundiata Scholar) – The Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, Wilfred Anagbe, has advised parents to give their children quality education to secure their future.
Anagbe gave the advice during the celebration of his 30th priestly and 10th episcopal anniversaries on Friday in Makurdi.
The bishop said that education was the most helpful gift that parents should bequeath to their children.
“This is the only inheritance that siblings do not fight over because it is personal.
“But every other inheritance is of little or no meaning as compared to education.
“If you give your children quality education, you have liberated them forever,” Anagbe said.
He pledged to continue to do the best for the people of the diocese and sued for prayers.
Meanwhile, the former governor of Benue, Samuel Ortom, said that the bishop was a man who had passion for God and compassion for humanity.
He stated that the bishop supported his administration by offering quality and useful advice to him.
Also, a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Mathias Byuan, encouraged people to always give alms so as to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged.
The Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro, disclosed that the bishop had won his heart because of his antecedents and promised to partner with him forever.
Moro further promised to build a block of three classrooms at the school that the bishop planned to build for the internally displaced persons (NAN)
