Rome Business School collaborates with Lagos, gives scholarship


LAGOS (Sundiata Post) – Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced a strategic collaboration with the Rome Business School (RBS), Italy, to deepen knowledge exchange and entrepreneurial training.
The governor made this known when he received Prof. Antonio Ragusa, the Founder and Dean of the business school, at the Lagos House, Marina.
reports that the meeting was aimed at bolstering educational development and youth empowerment.
As part of the collaboration, 150 students across Lagos will get one million Naira each, in scholarship from the business school.
The collaboration is a aimed at developing business and leadership skills among young talents.
Sanwo-Olu described the collaboration as a significant step in his administration’s commitment to human capital development and global competitiveness.
He described Nigerians as a hospitable, intelligent and knowledgeable people.
He said that education would provide knowledge, develop talents and sharpen skills.
The governor highlighted some efforts of his administration toward ensuring that the state established additional institutions.
“When we came in, we had only one state university, which is the Lagos State University.
“Because we appreciate the importance of tertiary education, within six years, we added two more universities.
“In fact, there is a plan for a fourth one, which is a medical university,” he said.
The governor said that besides the universities, the state had established a leadership academy.
“We now have what we call the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, which is a fellowship academy for one year.”
Earlier, Rugusa, said that the collaboration would further strengthen bilateral ties and promote cultural exchange between Nigeria and Italy.
” We will give 150 students scholarship worth one million Naira, each.
“We are here because I feel Nigerian. Nigeria is a second home for me.
“We already know that Nigeria is the giant of Africa but I think that, with investment in education, you can also become a giant of the global economy,” he said. (NAN)
