Salem University warns candidates against presenting fake results during screening

Alewo Johnson-Akubo, the vice-chancellor of Salem University in Lokoja, has warned candidates against presenting fake results during the 2024/2025 academic season screening.

The university screening process began on August 12.

The vice-chancellor said, “The university is targeting brilliance in the screening of candidates for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

“As a remarkable institution, we are targeting brilliance and competency during the screening as part of our drive.

“This is aimed at producing global leaders and change agents that will create impact across the world.”

Mr Johnson-Akubo added, “There is no room for compromise when it comes to admission of undergraduate and postgraduate students into various courses being run by our six colleges.”

The colleges, he claimed, were the College of Law, College of Humanities, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and College of Education.

Others, he said, are the Colleges of Information and Communication Technology, Management and Social Sciences, Graduate Studies, and the Pre-Varsity School.

The vice-chancellor stated that seven new programmes were ready for verification by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

According to him, the programmes include Anatomy, physiology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health in the College of Basic Health and Allied Sciences, and Cybersecurity and Data Science in the College of Information and Communications Technology.

“Salem University is aimed at producing graduates who are mentally alert, Spiritually alive and intellectually developed to change their world positively.

“Our academic programmes are fully accredited by NUC and carefully designed to meet industry and professional needs and the challenges of job placements in the labour market.

“Earning a degree at Salem University is a better way to kick start your professional and career journey in life without hassles. We have provided modern and reasonable recreational and standard hostel facilities which help to make learning fun and rewarding experience,” he said.
