Sanwo-Olu celebrates 59th birthday with 200 students with disabilities




Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, marked his 59th birthday on Tuesday with a church Thanksgiving ceremony in the Chapel of the Lagos House in Marina.

In the same vein, the Governor hosted a luncheon for nearly 200 students with disabilities from various schools throughout the state.

At the State House in Alausa, Ikeja, the joyful Governor toured around the pupils to offer love, which was attended by his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde.

Earlier, Mrs Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor, and Mr. Dayo Israel, National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), attended the Marina service themed ‘Celebration of God’s Faithfulness’.

The Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Revd Ifedola Okupevi; Special Adviser to Governor on Religious Matters (Christian Affairs), Very Revd Bukola Adeleke; members of the Lagos State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries, party members, religious leaders, close aides, families, friends, and celebrants’ staff were also in attendance.

Special students from Army Command School and Ereko Methodist School in Lagos attended the service as well.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, clad in white traditional attire, read the Bible reading from Psalm 34:1-10 during the event.

In his sermon, the Presiding Chaplain, Revd. (Dr.) Dele Ajayi, stated that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s 59th birthday is worthy of celebration because of God’s faithfulness to the Governor and his family.

He prayed that God would grant Governor Sanwo-Olu all of his heart’s desires and give him the wisdom to carry out God’s plan for Lagos State as he continues to pilot the ship of state.

The First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, referred to her husband as a “superman” because of his dedication to working for Lagos State.
