Soludo unveils smart boards, tablets in schools to raise learning quality


To enhance education in Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo has approved the modernization of secondary school facilities during the ninth Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting held in Awka.
A statement revealed that during the Council meeting, Soludo endorsed the purchase of smart boards to replace the earlier approved interactive boards, as well as tablets for teachers in the 22 designated smart schools within the state.
According to the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the governor has also sanctioned the rebuilding of Boy’s Secondary School, Uga, to serve as a model secondary institution for Anambra.
The statement further noted that, as part of his broader plan to reform the education system, Soludo has arranged for free internet services at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s Uli Campus.
Additionally, the statement disclosed that the free education initiative introduced by the governor now covers students up to Senior Secondary School Year 3 (SS3), with the employment of another 3,115 teachers, bringing the total teaching workforce to over 8,200.
The governor has also reconnected the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, located in Ihiala Local Government Area, to electricity after more than two decades without power.
