Student leaders, youths, plan nationwide protest over poor healthcare facilities
Nigerian youths and student union leaders of various institutions across the country are reportedly planning a nationwide protest against the government over the poor state primary healthcare facilities
The decision to embark on the protest was reached at a meeting between Nigerian Youth Union (NYU), National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NACES), Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone A, B, C.
The protest seeks to call the government attention to the abandoned and substandard primary healthcare facilities across the 774 local government areas and ensuring basic healthcare access to the masses at the grassroots.
In the communique made available to the press at the meeting held on 28th January 2021, the group warns that the Nigerian Youths and Students Leaders will mobilize its members and Nigerians for a national Protest after 14-days if no proactive action is taken to guarantee a better, accessible, and quality healthcare system for the greater percentage of Nigerians who are resident in rural communities.
