TETFund Commissions N866 Million Projects at Cross River College of Education
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commissioned three projects valued at ₦866,788,453.84 at the College of Education, Akamkpa, Cross River State.
The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, presided over the inauguration of the projects as part of the 2024 TETFund Management Retreat activities held in Cross River State.
During the commissioning, Arc. Echono revealed that the projects were implemented under the 2018 Special High Impact Intervention and the merged 2021–2023 Annual Intervention programmes.
Providing details, he said, “The three projects include the School of Education Building under the 2018 Special High Impact Intervention costing ₦345,728,721.00.”
“The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts under the Years 2021–2023 (merged) Annual Interventions, constructed at ₦236,071,119.97.”
“Also commissioned is the Department of Human Kinetics and Physical Education under the Years 2021–2023 (merged) Annual Interventions, constructed at ₦284,986,613.87,” he explained.
He praised the college for successfully completing the projects and emphasised the importance of maintaining the facilities to ensure they benefit future generations.
Prof. Patrick Asuquo, the provost of the institution, expressed his gratitude for the developments. He highlighted that the new facilities would provide students with cutting-edge resources, an enhanced learning environment, and the tools needed to excel in today’s competitive world.
