Nigeria Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund has announced that the winner of the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of The Year (MTOTY) award will receive N10 million, a trophy, capacity development training abroad, and a fully-equipped block of classrooms or computer laboratory for the school.
The new prize money is an increase over the competition’s original star award of N6.5 million in 2015.
At the flag-off ceremony in Lagos, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries PLC, Hans Essaadi, was represented by NB PLC’s Human Resource Director, Grace Omo-Lamai.
Essaadi stated that this year’s edition marks the beginning of a new journey to recognize and celebrate teachers’ dedication and efforts.
The organisers noted that entries for the competition opened on Thursday, May 16, 2024, and will close on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Secondary teachers in public and private schools are eligible to participate in the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year competition.
