She stated that the legacy project would last beyond her tenure as Provost, and she was pleased to be investing for the future.

The Provost thanked her management team for their assistance with the initiative, which she stated will also serve as a practical training facility for staff and students in bread production.

Prof Okoli stated that the bakery was one of the measures of the current administration to strengthen the internal revenue generating base and enhance financial autonomy of the institution.

Prof Okoli stated that the bakery would also function as a practical course in entrepreneurial education for students, providing them with necessary skills. She encouraged both staff and students to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain practical experience and develop employable skills.

The Provost praised the Bakery and its production line for their cleanliness and advised the employees to never lower their standards.

The Registrar, Dr. (Mrs) Bessie Nkah, expressed her excitement and congratulated the Provost for making the dream a reality. She was pleased with the sophisticated baking facilities in the facility and the quality of the bread produced on the first day.

The Deputy Provost, Dr. ThankGod Nzeribe, commended the Provost, Prof Okoli, and Dr. J.O.C Orah on their commitment towards the successful launch of FECETU delicious bread.

Also speaking, the Bursar, Comrade Ethelbert Echedo, analysed the financial benefits of the Bakery to the College and described it as a lifesaver.

He described the bakery as a viable IGR project and commended the Provost for the landmark achievement.

Dr. J.O.C. Orah, a Chief Lecturer at the College’s School of Business Education, who is the Director of the FECETU Bakery, stated in an interview that the Bakery will operate during the working day and can even manufacture on demand on the weekends.

He praised the College Management’s efforts in attracting the project to the campus and gave the public and the College assurances of high-quality bread production that would meet the highest standards and food safety regulations in the confectionery industry.
