One Andrew Ogbeche, a graduate of University of Calabar (UNICAL) department of English Education, has admitted to facilitating the kidnap of his boss, Egbe Ediagbonya in okada area of Edo state.
In his confession, Ogbeche said he was aware of his ex-boss’ kidnap by one Paul and others but did not know about his murder. According to him, he worked as a labourer at the deceased palm oil farm where he earned N10,000 monthly pay. He met paul, the mastermind behind the kidnap at the farm and became friends with him.
The deceased Egbe Ediagbonya, a former Commissioner for Sports was kidnapped on May 16, 2020 and a ransom of N15m was demanded but the family could only pay N1m. His corpse was found decomposing in a bush close to his farm 19 days after the kidnap.
Ogbeche disclosed that he got N100,000 out of the ransom.
