UNILORIN partners Nigerian Army on capacity building
ILORIN ( Sundiata Scholar) – The management of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has assured the Nigerian Army of it’s readiness to partner all the military and paramilitary services in capacity building.
The UNILORIN Librarian, Dr Kamaldeen Omopupa, gave the assurance in Ilorin on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Nigerian Army Institute of Science, Education and Technology (NAISET), Sobi, Ilorin.
Omopupa explained that the university had all it takes to offer the necessary assistance in form of training to the institute, and the Nigerian Army, as an institution.
The librarian added that the UNILORIN library was big, well-equipped and resourceful enough to serve as a training ground for students of the Army institute.
Also, Lt.-Col. Hajarat Mohammed, the Coordinator of NAISET Library and Information Sciences programme, said the delegation was at the university to inform the institution’s library of its readiness to commence the training programme.
Mohammed commended the authorities of the institution for their support and fraternity with the Nigerian Army.
She added that the collaboration between the two institutions would have positive mutual benefits to the university and the Nigerian Army.
Mohammed noted that the UNILORIN was chosen for the strategic partnership because of its resource-richness, availability of relevant and competent professionals and relative closeness to its base.
She assured the librarian that all the would-be trainees, who would be posted to the university, would exhibit integrity and discipline before, during and after their training periods. (NAN
