UNIZIK Investigates Allegation of Female Student Biting Lecturer

The administration of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has announced that an investigation is underway regarding an incident involving a physical altercation between a lecturer and a student.

Reports indicate that the altercation took place on Tuesday at the Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, between a female student and a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Michael, over the disruption of a video recording the student was making.

According to gathered information, the incident escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the female student allegedly bit the lecturer on his wrist and arm.

Sources revealed that the student had been dancing and recording a “tik tok” video in the corridor when the lecturer walked by and tapped her on the shoulder, saying, “Excuse me.”

Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted, “The student was dancing in the corridor while someone was recording her, but as the lecturer attempted to pass, he tapped her on the shoulder and said, ‘Excuse me.’”

One witness explained, “The female student, apparently displeased with the way the lecturer touched her, reacted by saying, ‘Can you imagine how he just hit me?’”

Shortly after this, the situation escalated into a physical struggle between the lecturer and the student. The student forcefully grabbed the lecturer’s clothing, while bystanders attempted, unsuccessfully, to intervene. The confrontation caused a significant commotion in the area.

A viral video circulating on social media on Tuesday confirmed the sequence of events, showing the student dancing when the lecturer, from the Faculty of Arts, attempted to pass and said, “Excuse me,” while tapping her. The student then looked at him angrily and remarked, “Can you imagine? He just hit me.”
