UNIZIK student jumps to death from 3-storey building after taking hard drug


A student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, whose identity remains unknown, died after jumping from a three-storey building, allegedly under the influence of hard drugs.
The heartbreaking event happened around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at a student lodge near Royal Kitchen junction, located close to the university’s entrance in Awka, Anambra State.
Eyewitnesses stated that the student jumped from the third floor of the building and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel declared him dead.
Residents reported that the student had consumed hard drugs, specifically “MKPURUMMIRI,” before the tragic occurrence.
People living nearby said they heard a loud thud and later discovered the student lying in a pool of blood.
When the situation was examined further, it was found that the student’s roommate was also affected by the same drug, as he was found disoriented and confused inside their room.
The roommate is presently being held by police and will be interrogated after his condition improves.
The deceased student’s name has not been made public yet, as officials are still trying to inform his family.
Efforts are ongoing by the authorities to contact his family members, while an investigation into what happened is still underway.
