The registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which is scheduled for 2024, have been amended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This revision reflects a minor rise for both applicants who choose to take the mock exam and those who do not.
UTME candidates who want to take the practice exam would need to pay N7,700 under the new arrangement, while those who prefer not to take the mock exam will have to pay N6,200. The previous cost schedule was N5,700 without mock and N6,700 with mock.
The statement states that when the board releases the registration details on or before January 15, 2024, it will be expected to offer a thorough explanation of these payments.
In the meantime, JAMB has declared that the Direct Entry (DE) application registration window would run from February 28, 2024, to March 28, 2024.
Through this route, graduates of advanced diploma programmes or those with comparable credentials can apply for admission to tertiary institutions without taking the UTME.
The board further disclosed that the process of developing registration profile codes is presently underway.
It further stated that instructions on how to generate these codes will be released closer to the registration opening date of January 15.
JAMB urged prospective candidates to stay up to speed on official announcements and instructions in order to guarantee a seamless and fruitful registration process.
This entails routinely checking for updates on the board’s website and other communication channels.
