WAEC students in Delta take examination in the dark

Students of Unity Model School in Asaba, Delta State, were reportedly made to write one of their WAEC examinations late in the day, relying on torchlight due to the absence of electricity at the school.
A video making the rounds on the internet shows the students in the examination hall, filmed by a woman whose identity remains unknown.
In the footage, the woman can be heard criticizing the officials for subjecting the students to such conditions.
She alleged that the exam had been scheduled for 2 pm, but the officials only delivered the question papers at 6 pm.
As a result, it was already dark when the students began the exam. Since there was no electricity in the school, a torchlight had to be positioned inside the classroom.
“It’s not OK,” the woman said, referring to the hardship faced by the students.
She went on to say that even in her school days, when lanterns were commonly used, they were never placed in such a situation.
