World Bank 2025 Government Analytics Fellowship Programme

Introduced in 2024, this fellowship addresses the gap between underutilised government data and its potential to enhance efficiency in public administration. Drawing on insights from the Government Analytics Handbook and supported by World Bank specialists and academics, the programme provides cutting-edge evidence and practical knowledge to optimise government operations.

The fellowship is a joint initiative of the World Bank’s Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC), Governance Global Practice (GGP), and Development Impact Group (DIME), in collaboration with University College London.

Requirements for World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Programme

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be employed in central government organisations (including agencies).
  • Hold mid-level manager or senior analyst positions with authority to develop a government analytics project.
  • Have tertiary-level coursework in statistics or quantitative methods.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Be nominated by their organisation, with up to two fellows per organisation eligible.

Selection Process

Timeline

  • In-Person Training: March 17–27, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
  • Duration: 6 months, with a blend of in-person and light virtual sessions (1 hour per week).

Application Documents

  • Comprehensive CV (maximum 3 pages) detailing relevant qualifications and experience.
  • 150-word project summary, outlining how they plan to use the fellowship insights to benefit their organisation.
  • Endorsement letter from their organisation, confirming their role and nomination.
