The Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) plans to include robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) into its academic curriculum to give students the skills they need to succeed in the quickly changing labour market.
The institution has also put in place plans to substitute the computer science course with AI, robotics, and other skills related courses.
Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, the Rector, stated that integrating cutting-edge technologies into the curriculum would equip students for the global marketplace of the 21st century.
He said: “The AI and robotics hub will serve as a dedicated space for cutting-edge research and development in artificial intelligence and robotics technologies. Faculty, students, and industry professionals can collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of innovation. Artificial Intelligence and other skills related courses will be replacing the computer science course from next session.”
The rector claims that this action will put YABATECH in the forefront of innovative teaching practices and ready students for the opportunities and difficulties of the rapidly changing digital age.
