ZUBEB promotes 2,020 teachers in Zamfara




As part of the state’s efforts to support teachers, the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZUBEB) has promoted 2,020 teachers who were eligible for advancement, spanning grade levels 6 through 16.

The ZUBEB public relations officer, Ibrahim Musa Maizare, revealed in a statement released today that the Executive Chairman of the board, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, has received the report from the standing committee on appointment and promotion.

The committee’s chairman and permanent member II Rufa’i Jibiril Muhammad presented the report, stating that the committee had visited all fourteen local government education authorities for the exercise and that a total of 2,020 teachers, ranging in grade from 6 to 16, had been promoted.

According to him, those promoted from Grade level 16 are 19, from grade level 15 are 27, grade level 14 are 163, while those promoted from grade level 13 are 305.

“Others promoted from grade level 12 are 162, level 10 are 406, level 9 are 232, level 8 are 165, level 7 are 51 and grade level 6 are 7 respectively.

“The number of workers promoted according to the local government indicated that Anka has 112, Bakura 71, Birnin Magaji 95, Bungudu 152, Bukuyum 91, Gummi 63, Gusau 381, Kaura Namoda 35, Maru 89, Maradun 160, Talata Mafara 242, Tsafe 305, Shinkafi 131 while Zurmi local government has 86 teachers promoted.”

The committee chairman commended the efforts of the board under the leadership of prof Nasir Anka for giving them the mandate and reassured him that the committee will continue doing its duties without fear or favour.

He assured of supporting the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal for him to fulfill his campaign promises.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman ZSUBEB Prof. Nasir Garba Anka commended the committee for the job well done despite the little resources provided to carry out the assignment in the state.

“My first priority as chairman of this board is teachers’ welfare as promised when I assumed office, insha Allah our promises will be fulfilled,” Anka said.

He stressed that the standing committee for appointment and promotion will always ensure the timely promotion of teachers, and assured that after careful scrutiny the report will be taken to the Executive Governor for final approval.
