10,000 students apply for Kogi lawmaker foundation’s N300 million bursary

The Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation has announced that it received more than 10,000 applications for its N300 million Bursary Award 2025.
The Secretary of the foundation’s Central Committee, Tosin Busuyi, revealed this in a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja.
He explained that the initiative was intended to assist Kogi State students enrolled in public tertiary institutions throughout Nigeria.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising the well-being of Kogi State students while also guaranteeing a credible, fair, and transparent process for selecting successful candidates.
Mr Busuyi clarified that the bursary scheme, which covers a full year of tuition, was made possible through Senator Karimi’s Education Foundation.
He stated, “Each beneficiary will receive N100,000 to support their academic pursuits. A total of 3,000 tertiary students from Kogi State will benefit from the bursary award. Beneficiaries include 1,000 students from Kogi East, 610 from Central, and 1,390 from West senatorial districts.’’
Mr Busuyi emphasised that Mr Karimi’s commitment to Kogi State students was evident in the foundation’s ongoing efforts to offer financial support to those in need.
He encouraged students who had not yet applied to finalise their registration before the application deadline of August 31.
The committee further advised students facing minor issues with registration to resolve them before the deadline.
The 2024 bursary initiative saw Senator Karimi distribute N100 million to 1,000 students.
