NGX dedicated to promoting financial literacy among youths
The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) has declared the publication of the most recent edition of NGX StockTown, a distinctive comic book intended to encourage financial literacy among the country’s younger generation.
NGX StockTown is the Exchange’s fulfilment of a long-held, passionate dream to enable people of all income levels to make wise financial decisions and enhance their lives now and in the future.
StockTown uses storytelling and illustrated characters to teach important lessons about the value of investing and saving money.
Readers are introduced to Mora Johnson and her middle-class family in the publication’s inaugural issue. Mora and her family are navigating financial difficulties, which piques her interest in investment and financial independence.
The most recent edition, which is supported by Zenith Bank Plc, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Norrenberger Securities Limited, and APT Securities Limited, explores the journey of Mora and her friends starting a stock trading club at their school.
Clifford Akpolo, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at NGX, stated that the Exchange’s steadfast dedication to advancing financial literacy in Nigeria is demonstrated by the ongoing publishing of NGX StockTown.
“NGX is dedicated to engaging its diverse network of investors through communication tools that resonate with their age, technological inclinations, and interests. By merging financial wisdom with the captivating world of comics, we aim to make personal finance not only understandable but also engaging and relatable for young Nigerians,” he said.
The Exchange conducts programming aimed at children and youth as part of its yearly initiatives, promoting the growth of a generation that is financially literate.
Notably, NGX hosts programmes for children and teenagers in observance of Global Money Week. The Exchange, which has been a consistent advocate for financial education, hosts X-Tours, a financial literacy workshop that brings together young professionals, undergraduates, and secondary school students.
The workshop culminates in a tour of the trading floor and meetings with Stockbrokers, contributing significantly to deepening financial inclusion in Nigeria.
