Gov Alia appoints Agena, Rector




MAKURDI (Sundiata Post) – Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue has approved the appointment of Dr Martins Agena as Rector, Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi.
This was contained in a statement on Friday by Alia’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Tersoo Kula, in Makurdi on Friday.
According to the statement, Agena, who is a Development Communication Scholar, hails from Guma Local Government Area of the State.
It further stated that before his appointment, the new rector was a lecturer with the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Kaduna State.
He also served as Special Assistant to the immediate past Executive Secretary, Nigeria Shippers’ Council, Emmanuel Jime.
“With his vast experience in the academic environment, it is the belief of the governor that Agena will be able to change the fortunes of the Polytechnic for good.
“As one who has been part of the Divine Mandate project from the onset, and very much in tune with the vision and mission of this administration, Agena should swing into action immediately,” Kula said in the statement. (NAN)
