Lagos Begins 2nd Phase Screening for Model Colleges, Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Examinations Board, has formally declared the start of the second phase of the 2025 entrance examination (screening test) for admission into the state’s 16 model colleges and upgraded junior secondary schools.

Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaiye, was not included in this announcement.

According to the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, the second phase became necessary in response to public appeals received through the State’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

In reaction to the numerous requests, the State Government has graciously approved this second phase to offer another chance to qualified Primary 6 pupils. The registration is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 9th July, and end on Friday, 15th August, 2025.

The Screening Test is planned to take place on Saturday, 23rd August, 2025, at designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centres throughout the State, in alignment with the Government’s continuous efforts to enhance digital literacy and innovation in assessment procedures.

The board advised all eligible candidates to “visit the Board’s official portal via the link https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng and complete the necessary registration for the examination. Upon successful registration, candidates are to log in using their USERNAME and PASSWORD to print their examination slips, which contain their details.”

The director emphasised that this screening test remains the only requirement for placement into any of the state’s model colleges and upgraded junior secondary schools and is strictly intended for Primary 6 pupils.

The Lagos State Examinations Board, therefore, seeks the cooperation and understanding of parents, guardians, school administrators, and all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the second phase of the examination exercise.
