Wukari University Teaching Hospital asks Nigerian government for a takeoff grant
Professor Daniel Zanyu Egah, the Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Taraba State’s newly founded Wukari University Teaching Hospital, has urged the federal government to provide the hospital with a takeoff grant urgently.
He made the appeal during a conversation with the media in the state on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of government funding in keeping the hospital running.
Professor Egah stressed that with federal support, the hospital could achieve its full potential, offering high-quality healthcare services to Taraba State residents and beyond.
The Acting CMD thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for his contributions to the hospital and encouraged the federal government to provide funds to the health institution.
He said the federal government’s funding is critical to the hospital’s ongoing development, noting that the number of patients seeking care at the hospital has steadily increased, with 400 deliveries recorded between January and May 2024.
”The surge in patient numbers connotes the growing importance of the teaching hospital in the Taraba healthcare landscape.
“My vision for the hospital is to create an institution known for its medical excellence and to serve as a referral centre for other healthcare facilities both within and outside Taraba State,” he said.
