The MAPOLY “Death Trap”

To staff and students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, the road leading to the school is a death trap. The pitiful state of the Iyana-Oloke MAPOLY Road is of great concern to members of the polytechnic community as well as those who ply their trade in the institution.

It has been gathered that the Ogun State Government had mobilised the construction company to rehabilitate the road up to the school gate, yet no one can ascertain why the project was suspended halfway.
The MAPOLY
The Management of MAPOLY have been silent concerning the matter, but the government has repeatedly assured that the road would be completed soon.
Many students have expressed their concern, and have stories to tell about the negative effects the road has had on them directly and on their academics. Shuttles are said to have reduced in the area, drivers were said to have “run away” owing to the distressing condition the road and the resulting vehicular damage and frequent repairs.
When approached,  CAMPUSLIFE reports that Public Relations Officer of MAPOLY Yemi Ajibola and the institution’s Directorate of Students Affair, Townplanner Luke Adelaja  refused to speak on the state of the road.
