MAN Oron Post-UTME form, cut-off mark, eligibility, application fee, deadline and registration details for the 2019/2020 Academic Session have been announced. Cut-off mark is 160 & 180 (depending on intended course of study). Application fee is N2000. Registration commences August 1st, 2019 and ends August 31st, 2019.

The Management of Maritime Academy of Nigeria hereby invites candidates who sat for the 2019/2020 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, choose the Academy as their First(1st) Choice Institution and score above the required cut-off Mark for POST UTME into various National Diploma (ND) programmes of the Academy for the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

MAN Oron Post-UTME 2019: Cut-off mark, Eligibility and Registration Details

The duration of National Diploma (ND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters. The following programmes are on offer:

  1. 1. Nautical Science
  2. 2. Marine Engineering
  3. 3. Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  4. 4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies

Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number.

Applicants are required to possess the following:
1.    A minimum of 180 marks in the 2019/2020 UTME for:
a)  Nautical Science
b)  Marine Engineering and
c)  Electrical/Electronics Engineering
2.    A minimum of 160 marks in the 2019/2020 UTME for:
a) Maritime Transport and Business Studies.
3.    A minimum of five (5) credit passes in Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS in relevant subjects.
4.    Applicant MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.

Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent and JAMB subject Combination
A.   Nautical Science:           
Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Physics and any other relevant Science subjects obtained at NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
    UTME Subject Combination:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Physics

    B. Marine Engineering 
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

C. Electrical/Electronic Engineering    
Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Chemistry
  • Physics

E. Maritime Transport and Business Studies            
Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Economics/Commerce and any two relevant subjects from Government, Principles of Account.

UTME Subject Combination:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Economics
  • Commerce/Government/ Principles of Account

5. Physical and Medical Fitness
Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as international convention (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all sea men to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours/challenges of the cadetship training

6. Marital Status
Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

7. Age Limit for Each Programme

 Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at the time of commencement of the programme.

– Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at the time of commencement of the programme.
