A corps member has been detained by the Katsina State Police Command for reportedly raping a female junior secondary student at his Primary Place of Assignment in the state. The incident was confirmed by the Katsina state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, he disclosed that they are still awaiting the medical reports to formally charge the corps member with the crime.
The corps member was arrested after the JSS 1 student accused him of raping her at the residence the school he works with, provided for serving corps members.
Reacting to the corps member’s arrest, NYSC authorities in the state revealed that they are awaiting police investigation into the case.
