Educationist calls on relevant stakeholders to update academic curriculum to global standards




Director of Queensland Academy, Lagos, Mrs Adenike Okudoh has stated that for Nigerian students to remain relevant, there is a need to review the current academic curriculum to meet global standards with immediate effect.

Okudoh, therefore, called on education stakeholders to update students with educational and entrepreneurial skills which will keep them relevant in the 21st century. She said skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creative thinking, team bonding, among others would boost the employability of Nigerian students.

She mentioned that the Nigerian child need to be future ready as the workplace is rapidly changing, adding that some jobs will soon go extinct, which will necessitate the use of required skills rather than certificates.
