The Director of Excel College, Ejigbo, Lagos, Dr. Bamidele Oke has reacted to claims that the collapse of the school building was due to alterations to the original structural plan. The director maintained that there is no truth to the claim and should be discarded. Recall that we had earlier reported that a wing of the three-story building collapsed on September 19, 2020, which resulted in the demolition of the entire school building based on instructions by the Lagos state government.
Dr. Oke explained that documents of the structure and other relevant papers have been presented to the government as requested so that it can correct the impression that the collapsed wing of the building, was added to the original plan after the school was built.
The Director further added that agencies of the state government, are working to unravel the cause of the building collapsing and full reports will soon be made available. He also added that he is hopeful for the government’s support in getting the learning ground back to its functional best.
