Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Graduate programmes of the Integrated Institute of Environment and Development (IIED) Integrated Institute of Environment and Development is a world class Centre of Excellence for multidisciplinary graduate education, applied research and capacity building in natural resources management, environmental protection and sustainable development in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA(PGD) PROGRAMMES

Applicants shall possess at least, a third (3rd) Class Degree in Natural or Applied Sciences, Medical Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Science Education. Holders of HND in Natural or Applied Sciences, Agriculture and Engineering from recognized higher institutions, with a minimum of Upper Credit or its equivalent are also eligible to apply. All candidates shall also satisfy the basic admission requirement of the College of Science of the University.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTERS OF SCIENCE (M.Sc.) PROGRAMMES

Applicants shall possess a B.Sc. Honours degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours lower division in Environmental Management and Toxicology or any Environmental Science related discipline from a recognized University. Holders of at least a credit pass in University PGD with a CGPA of 3.5/5.0 in a related discipline or 60% on weighed percentage average is also eligible to apply. All candidates shall also satisfy the basic admission requirement of the College of Science of the University.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D.) PROGRAMMES

Applicants shall possess Masters of Science Degree with a CGPA of at least 3.5/5.0 or 60% weighted average in an Environmental Science related discipline. All candidates shall also satisfy the basic admission requirement of College of science of the University. All candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity, effective independent decision making and problem-solving potentials.

DURATION

The duration for the PGD programme shall be 12 calendar months for full-time and 24 calendar months for part-time. Lectures shall be on a modular basis.

The duration for full time M.Sc. programme shall be 12 calendar months, while the part-time shall run for 24 months. The programme shall comprise innovative research and intensive lectures on a modular basis.

The duration for full time Ph.D. programme shall be a minimum of three (3) years which shall comprise course work and innovative research that shall proffer solutions to environmental and developmental challenges.
