It may be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria issued a directive on precautionary measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic is recommended by the Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID -19 and contained in the circular referenced: HCSF/306S/VOL1/47 of 22 December 2020 by Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
Provision of item (3) of the above circular emphasized the need for virtual meetings in place of a social gathering of people with a view to minimizing physical contact as recommended by the PTF and approved by the President.
Accordingly, a meeting was held between the Principal Officers and Student Union Government’s President along with leaders of some students’ cultural groups, on Tuesday, 23 March, 2021 during which the Government directives and other security matters were re-examined and decided that all social activities of the students be suspended in until further notice.
