Secondary school teacher disappears with N2m WAEC enrolment fee in Edo




The Edo state police command has launched a manhunt on a yet-to-be-identified private school teacher in Edo State, who has allegedly eloped with N2 million meant for the registration of students for the forthcoming West African Examination Senior Secondary School Examinations (WASSCE).

The incident was said to have happened at Gilgal Private School, located at Iguobazuwa the headquarters of Ovia South-west Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the teacher was given the money for safekeeping due to the lack of commercial banks in the area.

A parent who noticed the abnormality raised an alarm, and this led to the arrest of the proprietor of the said school by police operatives.
