UNILORIN’s Researcher of The Year Gets Car as an Award

A car has been awarded to Professor Adeyinka Tella of the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) as the researcher of the year.Bella lectures in the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, according to the university bulletin.

The prize, which included a car, was the main attraction of the university’s 14th annual merit awards ceremony. “The event marked the end of the 37th and 38th combined convocation ceremonies of the university,” it said.

Tella responded by saying that the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which encompasses industries like blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI), is the focus of his present research.

He clarified that he had previously won the Emerald Literacy Awards’ Outstanding Paper Award for his Robots and Public Libraries article, which had appeared in the Library Hi Tech News journal.

The author made a suggestion that the paper had caused a great deal of enthusiasm among library scientists since robots are now able to shelve and reshelf volumes, marking the entry of robotic technology into the library space. Among other things, he noted, “they also help reduce the fatigue of library users and get them refreshed.

“This fourth industrial revolution, in his opinion, “promises to stem the social malaise of poor reading culture in Nigeria,” when it comes to libraries.
