Adelowo Adegbenjo, a secondary school teacher who was kidnapped on Wednesday while going to his poultry farm after school, has regained his freedom.

He was freed on Thursday night, after spending two days in the kidnappers’ den.

Adegbenjo teaches at Alabata Community High School in Odeda, which is located on the Abeokuta-Ibadan Road in Ogun State.

According to a source, Adegbenjo was released after a few days with the kidnappers.

He went on to say: “We use this opportunity to thank you all for prayers, concerns and donations.”

The kidnappers had earlier contacted his family, seeking a N50 million ransom.

The source verified that payment was made prior to his release, but did not specify the amount because it was contributed from various sources.

The source also said he was taken to the hospital due to the injury he sustained, but was back at home.
