2 arrested for alleged rape of Ajayi Crowther university student





Two people have been detained for allegedly raping a student of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo.

Mr Olufemi John Atoyebi, the University’s Public Relations Officer, signed and released a press statement to convey the development.

Olufemi stated in a copy of the statement made available to reporters on Friday that Ajayi Crowther University Management promptly handed over the two people accused of committing the crime to the police, and that the university has set up its own internal panel of inquiry to investigate the allegations.

The statement also stated that the Management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo received with shock a report of an alleged rape of one of our female students last night, Thursday May 9, 2024 by two members of our vigilance group.

The Management wishes to assure all stakeholders that ACU will not tolerate any act of misconduct capable of tarnishing its enviable image.

Raising Godly intellectuals is our primary goal in ACU and we will not allow any act of misconduct capable of diverting our attention from our goal. Heavy penalty awaits anyone who is found culpable after our thorough investigation. The statement concluded.
