Foundation to register 1,000 indigent students in Edo for WASSCE/NECO

Martin Okoukoni, the founder of the Okoukoni Care Foundation, has offered to enrol 1,000 indigent students in the West Africa Examination Council/National Examination Council Examinations for the academic year 2024/2025.

Okoukoni, a Labour Party governorship candidate for 2024, stated that the students required assistance to advance in their careers and assured that a committee would be formed to pick genuine recipients.

He said, “It is time for Okoukoni Care Foundation to support about 1000 young people by enrolling them for WAEC/NECO examinations.

“The importance of education cannot be over-emphasized as it remains the foundation for meaningful development to take place in any country.

“If a country is said to be developed, the educational system of that country gets the credit.”

He said that there are a lot of schoolchildren who have dropped out of school due to lack of funds, adding that as a lover of education, he would not fold his hands and watch the children, who are the future leaders of the country, stopped from achieving their goals and put the country in the right path.

He said that to achieve that, the children must be allowed to go to school unhindered and pursue their dreams.

Emphasizing that the enrollment for the indigent students of the state is just part of his contributions to the development of the state and by extension, Nigeria, he called on the would-be beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity and put in their best in their academics so that the purpose of giving out that money would be justified.

Okoukoni therefore advised eligible students to fill out the application form at www.okoukonicarefoundation.org.
