Caleb University Receives ‘Best Private University In Nigeria 2024’ Award




Caleb University in Imota, Lagos, has received the Best Private University in Nigeria Award 2024 at the African Education Monitor Magazine Awards, which took place at the Sheraton Hotels in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to Olawale Adekoya, Information, Media, and Publication Specialist at CalebUniversity, the award is a double celebration for the university, which recently received the ‘Living Legacy Platinum-Gold Award for Outstanding Innovations, Youth Development, and Social Impact’ from the Lagos-Ikeja City Awards 2024.

Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, Vice Chancellor, Caleb University, who accepted the prestigious award on behalf of other awardees, was accompanied by two Caleb parents, one of whom attested to the quality of training received by his architecture graduate son, which he regarded as “very good.”

Prof Owens-Ibie emphasised the distinctiveness of the Mass Communication, Computer Science, Law, International Relations, Accounting, Microbiology, Business Administration, and other programmes, which are differentiated by cutting-edge offers.

The VC went on to say that the institution’s programmes are driven by industry demands, have strong professional affiliations, full accreditations, and enjoy significant investor confidence.

“The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria recently approved the Nursing Science programme which is now in its first session. ”

The annual awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.

Caleb University was recognised from a pool of equally outstanding nominees, impressing the judges with its student focused learning, town and gown collaboration, and sustained affiliation to professional bodies.

The theme of this year’s award was ‘Sustainable Development Goals in Education in Nigeria: Progress and Challenges’.

The University described the award as testament to the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers and staff.
