President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nasiru Gawuna, the APC’s governorship candidate in Kano, as the chairman of Bayero University’s governing council.
Other members of the BUK governing council are Abubakar Dauda, Nora Alo, Ibrahim Obanikoro, and Musa Abbas.
The reformation of the governing boards affects at least 31 institutions.
On May 23, President Bola Tinubu directed a comprehensive review of the governing boards of tertiary institutions, following public outcry over non-reflection of federal character.
The president also ordered that the review be completed before the candidates’ inauguration and retreat on May 31.
